VI. {Rom 13:8-10}
. Introduction
1. Review — Paul is telling how a Christian will apply chapters 6,7, & 8 to those around them.
2. Preview — Paul has addressed Christians, non-Christians, and government; now he gives a principle.

1. When a Christian must make a decision what is the rule.

1. (13:8) Is Paul saying a Christian will not use credit cards?
a. No, the issue is a Christian will pay all their debits.
2. How does a Christian fulfill law?
a. By actions not words.
3. What law is addressed here?
a. It is not the LOM but a general principle laid out by God when time began and such is the foundation for the LOM.
4. PONDER: Why do think it is necessary to write this?
a. Some may think the LOC replaces all laws of mankind.
5. (13:9) What is the foundation or maxim for Paul’s argument?
a. The LOM
6. The LOM has been replaced by the LOC, so says Paul. Can we use the LOM today?
a. We can use it as a means to understand the LOC.
7. (13:10) What is the fulfillment of the LOM?
a. Love seen in actions
8. The word for love (both places) is agape (love, that is, affection or benevolence). What is being said?
a. Do what is best for neighbor and I fulfill the LOM.
9. Who is my neighbor?
a. The word carries the idea of , as noun, a neighbor, that is, fellow (as man, countryman, Christian or friend), thus, every body that needs help.
